Good standard of accomodation as is expected of Paradors.
The Reception staff spoke good English but were abrupt, seemingly unfriendly and not at all 'welcoming' upon our arrival. The location of the hotel was some distance from the town which meant a long unattractive walk or having to drive.

Got well-appointed room, had a pleasant stay on 26th September 2019. The hotel staff was very friendly and well-trained. The location was easy and ideal, just next door to great historical sites, the ferry at Santander and the south coast of Spain.

Thought hotel was very good. Had broken my ankle and was in plaster on crutches so distance to room was rather long but, to be fair, booked room well before that. Excellent facilities, sadly unable to use, but would stay there again if possible.
Only distance to room due to ankle being in plaster and on crutches! To be fair its a big hotel so they did the best they could.

It was a beautiful building which was well maintained. Our room was comfortable and well-equiped.
The service was not very good. We had to wait for a long time for our dinner. When it came it was almost cold. We felt it was very expensive for a mediocre meal. During the day we were there we were out of our room from 10am until after 3pm. The chamber maid came to clean the room at 6.30pm!

We liked the quick access from the motorway, the large room and the ambiance of an old Spanish manor.
Reception staff was quite unfriendly from the start, making our stay uncomfortable. Now we see that we missed warnings about this from some guest reviews. When the internet connection did not work in the room, we had to jump through hoops to prove it to reception; even then they did not move us next door to a workable connection until we asked.
